He is our Lord and the Savior. Savior means one that saves or preserves, and it is properly applied only to Jesus Christ, who has opened the way to everlasting salvation by His obedience on the cross to save us and His death, who is therefore called the Savior, the Savior of the human race, the men, the Savior of the world, the Savior who redeemed us for our sins.
